Women's PR History Month kick-off event

Women's PR History Month, the first-ever celebration of the role of women in the profession’s history was held March 9, 2017, 6:00 p.m. at the New York Genome Center in New York. A panel discussion was led by noted historians Karen Russell, professor at University of Georgia; Meg Lamme, professor at the University of Alabama; and Karla Gower, professor at the University of Alabama and director of the Plank Center; Also on the panel was Muriel Fox, co-founder and PR director, National Organization for Women; and Anne Bernays, novelist, teacher, and daughter of Doris Fleischman Bernays, who spoke publicly about the under-recognized role of her mother for the first time. The event was produced by The Museum of Public Relations.
